Direct discrimination occurs when someone is treated less favorably due to certain protected characteristics, such as race or gender. Indirect discrimination happens when certain policies or practices, although appearing neutral, negatively impact a specific group of people with those protected characteristics.

Honestly, unless from an early age you teach a child, that discrimination, is totally wrong, it will negatively affect them. Their brain develops a lot in the first 5 years, so if they are exposed to racism, before they earn it it not ok to act like that, their beliefs may be altered and they can grow up to be, just like they people they are exposed to.

Or if there were disabled facilities but they had to be accessed from the rear of the building next to the rubbish bins etc and everyone else goes in thru the front door. They're still providing the facilities and still saying anyone can use them but they're putting those people at a disadvantage or humiliation.The difference between indirect and direct discrimination is in how it is done. Direct discrimination is treating someone in an unjust manner with their knowledge like insulting them with their race. Indirect discrimination is still an unfair treatment but in a concealed manner. A good example is being dismissed from work without valid reasons.
