Cryptozoology is often defined as the search for and study of, unknown animal species or mythical beasts!
For a sighting may qualify for Cryptozoology Study, first certain criteria must be met, e.g. western science either doesn't acknowledge the existence of the animal, or knows very little or nothing about it. Second, discovery or rediscovery of a long thought extinct species of animal. Third, and most sought after of all, evidence to prove the existence of one form or another of previously thought to be mythical beats i.e The Loch Ness Monster, The Yeti, the Chupacabra, a Sea Monster of some form or even some kind of hybrid Chimira. You may find mentions of :The Jersey Devil, Loch Ness Monster, Big Foot, lake monsters and weird big cat sightings from places that big cats really should not be residing!
