Darcy says Elizabeth is tolerable, but not pretty enough to tempt him. This is important because she hears him, is offended, and winds up being prejudiced against him for a long while after that.

This is not really explicitly stated in the novel. There are some hints, however.

If you look at the people in the novel with whom Darcy has any interaction, many of them either are women who want to capture him for themselves or people who want to capture him for some near relative. Miss Bingley is an obvious example of the former, and Lady Catherine de Bourgh, trying to get Darcy to marry her daughter Anne, is an example of the later.

The times were not easy for young, unmarried women. An educated woman did not have many options. She was best off marrying. If she could not do that, and she did not have a lot of money, her best chance was to be a governess. Otherwise she had to be a dependant on some relative. Since about a quarter of the young men were off in the Napoleonic Wars, many of them dead, there were a lot of young women who did not have a chance of marrying.

Darcy was not only unmarried, he was very wealthy, and so he was considered very attractive and was the object of many women's attentions. Surely he felt this.

In Elizabeth Bennet, he found a young woman other people regarded as attractive for her wit and looks. But the first time he asked her to dance, she refused him. This was doubtless something new. His attention was riveted on her as a person different from anyone he had known before. And so, very much against his own will, he found himself attracted. He tried to fight against this, but he failed.

What is the relationship between Elizabeth and Darcy?

The time comes when Elizabeth sees she is wrong, and then she falls in love with Darcy. She is afraid her refusal of his proposal has doomed any chance of a relationship. When that turns out to be wrong, she is afraid that Lydia's elopement has ruined her chances. In the end, of course, they marry.

Why does Elizabeth feel she will never see Mr Darcy again when she told him about Lydia's elopement with Wickham in Pride and Prejudice?

If Lydia marries Wickham, then Elizabeth will be closely related to a man Darcy detests. If Lydia fails to marry Wickham, then Elizabeth will be a member of a disgraced family. Either way a connection between Darcy and Elizabeth is also a connection between Darcy and a scandal. Lizzy is already aware of the enormous differences between her situation and Darcy's. She is poor and he is rich. In England of the time, that was regarded as a reason for them not to be married, because marriage was a way to form alliances and increase wealth. Darcy has commented on this. Her family is not well bred by Darcy's standards, and Darcy has commented on this also. She has already turned down a marriage proposal by Darcy, and rather angrily. She regards the attraction Darcy has for her as probaby very weak to begin with. Lydia's elopement, in her view, is just a final straw.
