Frankly, it sucks! My husband is in the Army, and it just sucks. I feel lonely and sad and worried all the time. And, even though he calls, it's not the same. We just want our husbands home. We want to know they are safe. And, we want them here with us. It's never a good thing to be apart from your loved ones for so long.

We as soldiers know how difficult it is for our wives and families while we are away. We carry you with us through every forest, swamp, jungle, and desert we slog. We bear the load of everything that goes on at home while we are away, as well as the stress of the world around us. We watch as our friends, our brothers are torn apart, and are forced to imagine what would happen if we did not stand our post to prevent the same from coming to our own homes. We fight oppression and evil, while living under it ourselves so that others, those we love, and the rest of the world can live free. We live in loneliness, surrounded by brothers and sisters who are in similar situations, making the pain we feel that much more poignant because it is shared. We commiserate with each other, sharing every child's first steps, first words, first day of school, all the while not being able to be there ourselves to see it. We are strong, for you, while at the same time relying on your greater strength to support us, allowing us to do what we do as professionals. You safeguard our hearts and trust, while at the same time we safeguard everything else. We stand in the breach, sacrificing, asking you to sacrifice too, so that no one need to. And, for all of it, we love you more.

You will have no problems joining the Army. Do not sponsor your wife for a green card until you are in the military. She will be eligible for a parole in place.

It would be cruel for the wife to stop her husband from seeing his son just because he wants to stay in the Army. At one time when going with your husband (before marriage) or even the first part of your marriage you had to know what Army life could be like. You are putting yourself first and not thinking of your son. Children need their father in their life too. Most likely you could not stop your husband from seeing his own son and being in the Army is not excuse as to why he cannot see his son. Think of your son first and what it would do to him if he could not see his father anymore. What you choose to do with your life as far as divorcing your husband because you are lonely and he wants to continue on in Army life is your decision, but at least have joint custody for your son between the two of you

Why would you join the contenetal army?
People had many different different reasons for joining the continental army. Many or the provisions listed in the constitution and the entire Bill of Rights describe abuses England committed against the colonies. No congressman can be killed for something he says on the floor of congress. Congress can not make a law to kill you. You can not be killed because you went to church. A tax collector can not decide to go inside your house and take everything in it. Then when the war starts, if the British army comes to your town, burns it, kills your children, and abuses your wife, like they did in Charleston, Massachusetts, or Norfolk, Virginia, you just might decide to join the Continental Army.
