Malware is an extremely dangerous virus that acts like Spyware, if you visited a website with Malware, it would hack into your web browser, causing it to download and install Malware without your permission. Safari, Google chrome, and Firefox (these are the only web browsers i know that can do this) can detect Malware on websites, so deny access to the website. If you searched \"download free ps2 games\" on Google, some of the sites have Malware, and Google even tests these websites. To protect your computer from malware, you have to have avg 9.0 because avg 9.0 has link scanner which scans websites you visit. it scans before you visit the website. link scanner will not allow you to access the website if it contains harmful viruses, trojans, horse trojans, etc.
Some computer operating systems do allow malware to infect themselves and some OS will block the infection by how the OS is written and run. Most malware seems to be slightly modified versions of existing malware. Setting the download preferences to all ways ask me before installing or running a downloaded program appears to protect computers from infection. Only going to known, safe websites is also very good at avoiding malware.
