mangling is basically the old fashioned way of drying clothes.

A mangler is made of two wooden cylinders, pressed against eachother, and they turn around using a handle, so you turn the handle put the clothing between the cylinders, the clothes pass through as you turn the handle and the moisture is 'pressed' out.
