The Department of Labor states that full-time vs. part-time is completely at the discretion of the employer. There is no set guideline. For example, a company can require a minimum 40 hours as full-Time and anything below that as part-time. Another company can consider anything over 30 hours as full-time

The U.S. Dept of Labor does not define how many hours constitute full time or part time. According to their site, it is generally determined by the employer. But locally, I've worked a couple of places that said the 32 hours or more is considered full time. I could not verify that on the Dept. of Labor site.
