I had to realize you are not asking about the real mileage, since this is displayed for all to see when we check our speed. So you must be asking about what your miles per gallon of gas mileage is? I have an 86 with the same engine and I get from 18 to 24 depending on who is driving and what I am pulling. I loaded the vehicle up in Idaho and pulled a trailer to Florida. I averaged 17 MPG on the trip. Down here when I drive to the coast an a leisurely drive at 60 MPH I can get 24 MPG.
22RE or the 3.0L.
The 22RE powered the 1985 to 1995 Hilux, the 1985 to 1995 standard pickup, and the 1985 to 1995 4Runner.
what does the ignitor assembly do on a 87 toyota 4runner(22re)
the 89 toys had the 22r 22re and 3.0 v6
I have an 86 4 runner and a 22re engine. The nuts and bolts on mine are 12 mm.
I can't see an issue in swapping it. i don't see any issues unless smog is a factor but i believe the 22re motor from 1985 to 1995 is the same all the way through those years the motor was built
There should be a sticker in the engine compartment that shows the specific information for your vehicle. If you don't have one then it has a normal setting of 10 degrees BTDC at 800 RPM
I checked two reference manuals. The correct gap is .032" or 32 thousandths.
a 22re is a radiator ignition and a 22r is just the radiator.
The recommended spark plug gap for a 1994 Toyota 22RE is .032"
The fuel filter on an 87 4runner with a 22re is bolted to the block under the intake on the passenger side. It's a little difficult to get to, but it can be done without removing the fuel injection system.
