Norway is a parliamentary democracy under constitutional monarchy. King Harald V is the head of state, but doesn't have much (if any) political power. The prime minister and head of government is Jens Stoltenberg from the Norwegian Labour Party (Arbeiderpartiet). Power is separated between the legislative, executive and judicial branches of government, as defined by the Constitution, which serves as the country's supreme legal document.
