What is outbound tourist?

An outbound tourist is someone who resides in one country leaves to visit a foreign country. For instance, whenever American citizens visit any other country, including Canada and Mexico, they are outbound tourists.

If you are in Boston and you are in a Subway Station and you read ' outbound' or inbound.

Depending on where you start your journey will determine outbound or inbound, whichever way the train is heading. If it is coming to you the train is 'inbound' to your station, but heading ' outbound ' away from the one it originally came from.

If you are in Worcester Ma, and you want to go to Boston, you are currently at the Worcester Train station. If you read the Train Scheduel it will range from AM to PM of when the train will be ' inbound ' which means ' when it will arrive in worcester ' (where you are) If it says arrival at 5:45am. You know that the train coming to you (inbound) will arrive at 5:45 for boarding to Boston. As you leave the station, you will now be going ' outbound ' to Boston

For the people in Boston waiting for that train that you are now on, it will be inbound. meaning ' coming to their station'

So in short "Inbound" means the train is coming in your direction. "Outbound" means it is leaving.

Understand that in the Subway Station "Inbound & Outbound" have a whole other meaning.

To determine if you will be going inbound or outbound, their are maps to show you. You will find where you are (you are here) and then you will find where you want to go lets say "Market Street" you will then follow the path to Market Street and see that you need to be either on the INBOUND side of the tracks or the OUTBOUND to get to that location.

So lets say you follow the path and on the side it says ' outbound ' (meaning from where you currently are) you will need to make sure you are on the right side of the tracks by reading the signs above you.
