What is pain on right side rib area under breast extending to back that is so sore I am unable to sleep or lay on my back or right side.?

Severe pain along a small area on one side, especially if it is burning pain, could be the early signs of shingles, or a herpes zoster reactivation. If this is the case, in a few days, you may notice a rash break out along the same are you have had the pain.
Other possibilities, depending on your recent history, could include rib fractures, intercostal muscle spasm, pleurisy, pneumothorax, pneumonia, or a muscle spasm.
If you are concerned, you should see your physician. If you have any symptoms like those of shingles described above, you should see your physician sooner rather than later, as medications can decrease the amount of time the symptoms last.
