You don't get paid for it but you get money to cover the expenses of the children. It depends on the state and how many children. For instance someone I know who lives in Indiana got 3000 and she had 3 children, 2 school age and one that was 2.

If you are interested in doing foster care, money should not be on your mind as a reason. We have been doing foster care for almost 6 years, and we get reimbursed for room and board, food, utilitys, etc... You have children who throw fits, cuss you out, really need the love and attention of a person who wants to give children a voice, who want them to know that we are here for you as long as you need. We have past foster children who come for dinner with new girlfriends, who call and say they are sorry for how they acted on occassions, and to say thank you. No amount of money can do this. No amount of money can show a child how special they are. You hope that you helped a child stop the cycle of neglect, or abuse, etc... You hope that they learned how to raise there family so that we will not be fostering THEIR children in the future.

Foster parents can receive any where from $25.00-$80.00 tax free a day. It all depends on the behavioral issues that child has, the more difficult the child is the more money you get. Mentally challenged and disabled children get even more money per day depending on the severity of their disability..

Should the court rule that a foster parent be held responsible to transport their foster children to visit the natural parent?

No. The court should not rule that a foster parent be held responsible to transport foster children to visit a natural parent. The duties of the foster parent are governed by a contract between the foster parent and the state. When the court places extra duties and expenses on a foster parent without arranging for payment for time and expenses, the court is placing an undue burden on a particular person. Such is not the duty of the court. The court does not run the foster care program. The Administrative branch of government is assigned that responsibility. The court should not place an unfunded mandate on foster parents.

First of all can a child never be left to you without a judge having a say. The will is just a request form the parent. You can seek for approval for being the child's foster parent, of course. Then it's up to the socialworkers.
