Light is made up of small pieces called photons. In other words, a photon is a particle of light. Or of electromagnetic radiation in general - it need not be visible light.

In many experiments, light behaves as if it were composed of particles instead of waves.

And the theory that says light is a stream of particles leads to predictions that are proven

to be true when Physicists design experiments to test them. "Photon" is the name given

to these tiny particles that make up light ... and all other forms of electromagnetic radiation,

such as radio, heat, and x-rays.

That doesn't mean that we should forget all about waves. In many other experiments,

light also behaves like a series of waves. And the wave theory also predicts behavior

that is observed in experiments designed to look for it.

So we have to say that light ... and all other electromagnetic radiation ... is some kind of

combination of waves and photons. That's not something that we can easily understand

from what we see around us in everyday life. But when we design experiments to tease

out a description of what light is all about, it jumps out at us, and we can't ignore it.

Does a photon differ from its inertial particle?

It isn't clear what you mean by "its" inertial particle. There is no inertial particle associated with the photon.

Which is more energetic a red photon or a blue photon?

The energy of a photon is inversely propotional to its wavelength. The wavelength of a blue photon is less than that of a red photon. That makes the blue photon more energetic. Or how about this? The energy of a photon is directly proportional to its frequency. The frequency of a blue photon is greater than that of a red photon. That makes the blue photon more energetic. The wavelength of a photon is inversely proportional to its frequency. The the longer the wavelength, the lower the frequency. The shorter the wavelength, the higher the frequency.
