Precipitate is the now insoluble part formed when two chemicals react.

Usually a solid, but if the fluid were dense, it may not settle. It could be a colloid.

If you added NaCl solution to a AgNO3 solution, a precipitate of AgCl would be formed, for AgCl is insoluble in water.
