Pulsating Theory

According to this theory, the universe is supposed to be expanding and contracting alternately i.e. pulsating. At present, the universe is expanding. According to pulsating theory, it is possible that at a certain time, the expansion of the universe may be stopped by the gravitational pull and the may contract again. After it has been contracted to a certain size, explosion again occurs and the universe will start expanding. The alternate expansion and contraction of the universe give rise to pulsating universe.

Very briefly, the Pulsating Theory says that the universe was created at the time of the big bang and is a t present expanding. Eventually, due to gravity that expansion will stop and reverse, the universe will then end in a big 'crunch' and everything will start again with another big bang.

The Steady Theory says that matter is continually being created everywhere and the universe will continue to grow with no apparent visible change.

How long has the universe existed going by the Steady State Theory?

The steady-state theory is obsolete - it is now known that the Universe does change over time (the Steady-State Theory states that it doesn't). According to the Steady-State Theory, the Universe has no beginning and no end.

How does red-shift support the steady state theory?

Red shift does not support the steady state theory.

Is the steady state a theory o a fact?

The Steady State theory is now an obsolete theory. It was an interesting alternative to the normal Big Bang theory, but it doesn't agree with observations. The Steady State theory is now an obsolete theory. Who is the Author of the Steady State Theory?

The author authors of the Steady State Theory are Fred Hoyle, Thomas Gold, and Hermann Bondi. The Steady State Theory is also known as the Infinite Universe Theory or continuous creation.

What discovery destroyed the steady state theory?

For most cosmologists, the refutation of the steady-state theory came with the discovery of the cosmic microwave background radiation in 1965, which was predicted by the Big Bang theory

What theory proposes that the universe does not change with time?

The steady-state universe theory

Which theory states that the universe has always exitsted as it is now?

steady state theory

Who discover steady state theory?

Fred Hoyle.

Evedince supporting the steady state theory?

Observational data does not support the Steady State Theory. The central idea of the Steady State Theory is that the aspect of the Universe (the way it looks) won't change over time; it is quite clear, from observations, that in the remote past, the Universe looked quite different from what it looks now.

What theory competed with the Big Bang theory for awhile as an explanation for the expansion of the universe?

The most usual name is the "Steady State" theory. The term "Big Bang" was actually coined by someone who was a proponent of the Steady State theory as a way of making fun of it.

What is the explanation for the steady state theory?

The Steady State theory states that matter is produced in the universe at a continuous rate, so that the universe stays constant throughout space and time. It is no longer an accepted theory in much of the scientific community.

When discovered the steady state theory and when?

Steady State is not a "discovery", it's a hypothesis that has been disproved. According to Steady State, the Universe in the past should look the same as it does now. Observations of far-away galaxies show that this is not the case.
