What is reading age?

Answer:

The 'normal' age at which a person might be expected to be able to read and comprehend written material. For example a book with a suggested reading age of 8-10 years should be able to be read by most people within and above that age bracket. Sometimes learners are tested and told their reading age and it does not coincide with their chronological age. As in most areas of learning, people perform at different levels according to their skill, practise, motivation and so on.
