Some people believe that after we die, that we are reincarnated - which means that our souls are born again into another body. There are diverse theories regarding reincarnation. Some of those views are:

*People who believe in reincarnation believe that after they die their souls go into another body and live another life. In some value systems they live as different types of creatures. Hinduism has as a tenet that if a person has a good karma he will go to a higher form of life until he gets out of the reincarnation cycle but if he has a bad karma, that is, if the sum total of his deeds stacks up on the bad side, he will come back as some lower form of life, a frog, for instance.

*In order to grow up to be like our creator, we have to gain understanding and control of all 144,000 ways of thinking available to us. To think that this can be done in just one lifetime is something I have come to see as a foolish idea, given the amount of time it has taken me to learn about only some of these. This is why re-incarnation is necessary. It allows us to continue our learning which is our only reason for being here to start with.

Theory 2

You go to heaven they reject you and then you got to hell and they reject you so you end up back on earth.

if it is reincarnation, the meaning is life after death (rebirth)

REINCARNATION: 'Reincarnation' is one of the most misunderstood terms in Hinduism.

1. REINCARNATION AS A HINDU BELIEF: Reincarnation is entry of the soul of a dead person into the body of a human being or an animal, making the soul live again.

It is Karma that makes us to reincarnate repeatedly.

Good deeds (good Karma) enables us to be born with a higher Varna and bad deeds (bad Karma) make us to be born with a lower Varna.

Moksha means putting an end to this unending cycles of Reincarnation.

2. REINCARNATION ACCORDING TO BRAHMAJNANA:

Reincarnation according to Brahmajnana is the transformation of an activity every time it is repeated, making the activity inefficient and unpredictable.

Karma is fluctuations in facilitating/ retarding forces of activities that causes transformation of the activity every time it is repeated.

Moksha is the abolition of fluctuations in facilitating/ retarding forces of activities.

3. REINCARNATION AND THE VEDAS:

Consider the Rigveda mantra 1.10. 14 - 8

O Spirit of the dead! Go to the highest heaven and meet with Yama and your ancestors.

Carry with you only the good Karmas leaving behind the bad. Seek a body and a new home (reincarnate), and a life of glory.

Yama is not the Hindu god of death. He is god of compulsion. He is the most powerful Hindu god and therefore, activities executed with Yama force often become dead (as a safety measure, get abolished automatically).

Such dead actions,

1. May get abolished irreversibly (go to hell)

2. May get transformed into dreams (go to heaven - to god Indra/ god of dreaming) and recycled. Such recycling is what we call Reincarnation.

Fluctuations in facilitating/ retarding forces of actions (Karma) is the main cause of such abolition.

Since both Yama and Indra are extremely difficult to use, now they are supposed to play a role after our death only.

Reincarnation is the religious or philosophical concept that the soul or spirit, after biological death, begins a new life in a new body.

To reincarnate means that after a death the soul leaves the body it then finds an other body that is about to be born and inhabits it. there are many schools of thought that surround this concept and reincarnation is said to happen from human to human or even from human to animal as is a popular belief in India where killing or causing suffering to animals is equated with cruelty to your ancestors.
