What is sacralose?

It is a sweetener. But not natural or organic like pure sugar. It's an artificial zero calorie sweetener... its also a thickener. And happens to be 600 times more powerfully sweet then common table sugar. NO NUTRITIONAL VALUE! It's not destroyed by heat and can be used in baking. I think it was discovered in the late seventies and approved by the FDA in nintey-eight.
