Scabies is an infectious skin disease. It is caused by Sarcoptes scabei (mites) barely visible. Not only human animal also suffers from Scabies infection. All age's people are susceptible to scabies.

Scabies outbreaks are reported in hostels, old people home and hospitals. Scabies spreads through direct contact, sharing clothes and beds of an infected people. Scabies in the genital area is sometime misdiagnosed as a fungal infection.
