What is service b in a 2003 c240 mercedez benz your car says service b exceeded by 1000 miles? |

Answer
There are two main types of service - Service A and Service B. Service on your vehicle is recommended in intervals of 10-13K miles or 1 year (whichever is first) alternating between the Service A and the Service B. Your car has a reminder system in it that tracks how many miles and the time between services and will notify you when its coming due. There are additional items that also need to be serviced such as brake fluid or spark plugs etc that may be indicated on your dash as needing Service E or Service F... These are identified in your owners manual with a recommended schedule or your Mercedes-Benz Service Advisor should also let you know when they are coming due.
The Service A includes: an oil/filter change, thorough inspection of brakes/ tires/ steering/ suspension/ exhaust/ belts/ hoses/ fluids etc, tire rotation (if equipped w/o staggered wheel sizes), and reseting maintenace reminder system.
The service B includes: an oil/filter change, tire rotation (if equipped w/o staggered wheel sizes), cabin air filter replacement, replacing wiper blades, fuel injection system cleaning, lubricating appropriate parts, thorough inspection of brakes/ tires/ steering/ suspension/ exhaust/ belts/ hoses/ fluids etc, hooking it up to the diagnostic computer to check and clear any stored codes and reseting maintenace reminder system.
