What is so tragic about Anne Frank?

Anne and her family lived in a secret room that family friends provided for them. They lived there more than a year before being found by German troops found them and sent them promptly to concentration camps. The family was separated and by the time the war was over they had been spread out over 3 different camps and their father was the only survivor. If memory serves, Anne passed away within months of the war ending.

Anne Frank was talented; she was cheerful in the face of appalling persecution. She died in March 1945 (exact date unknown) at Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. On 15 April 1945 the British Army liberated the camp ... - just a little too late for her.
