The music of Bernard Herrmann, who composed the score for the original "Psycho" and lots of other Alfred Hitchcock films, is very scary, moody music. An album of scary movie theme songs would work well at a party. Also, there are probably quite a few CD's for sale right now with Halloween type music, and sound effects like screaming and chains being dragged, etc.
