To set up a home gym, one does not need expensive equipment. A cardio machine such as a treadmill or elliptical, plus a few free weights, a mat and exercise ball are all one needs for an effective home gym.

I would first, search out a good Fitness program in your area maybe close to home. YMCA's are still popular and pretty cheap in our area, but find a facility you are comfortable with and if they don't offer Fitness games, invest in a Kinect (Xbox360) or a Wii system for your home.
