Zero is technically not a number, but it is special because it allows several things to be done with math that could not be done without it. If zero represents nothing, negative integers can be used to express quantities less than nothing. Also, our number system is based on ten, and the zero to the right of a one means ten and no more. A two and a zero mean twenty and no more, and on and on.

What is the property of zero in multiplication?

The special property that zero has is that if you multiply zero by any number, you get zero.

How come you cannot divide a number by zero but you can multiply a number by zero?

If you multiply any number by zero the answer is zero If you dividea number by zero the answer is undetermined. It is usually infinity , since when you divide a number ( numerator0 by a small the number (denominator) the smaller that denominator the larger the answer, and zero is so small that the answer is infinite. But not always, as in special cases when the numerator is also zero

Why is there no number which is divisible by zero?

There is no number which is divisible by zero because that would constitute a number that could have zero subtracted from it a specific number of times. For instance; 12 is divisible by three, because three can be subtracted from 12 four times, giving a final result of zero. Even if you subtract zero an infinite number of times, you cannot reach a quotient of zero from any number other than zero. Zero, however, is a special case. Zero divided by zero, even though it seems to meet the subtraction rule, does not constitute divisibility - it is an undefined. In advanced mathematics, we do talk about infinity, and we do define that any number divided by zero is infinity, but we still by convention do not call any number ever divisible by zero. Going further, the special case of zero divided by zero, while officially undefined, does have a definite value when you start talking about limits, but that is a topic for pre-calculus.

Why is zero neither a prime nor composite number?

Zero is not considered a prime number because it does not have any factors other than itself, which is a prerequisite for a number to be considered prime. Additionally, zero is not considered a composite number because it does not have more than one factor, which is another requirement for a number to be classified as composite. Zero is a special case and is treated as its own separate category.

When a number has a little 0 after what does it mean?

If that little zero is a superscript, like this: 20 Then it means "to the power of zero". Zero is a very special exponent, as anything to the power of zero equals one (except zero itself. 00 is undefined).

How do you converte a whole number into a decimal?

You can add a period, and a zero, after the whole number. Or you can just consider the whole numbers themselves a special kind of "decimal number".

Why is the once column very special?

it is important and special because every number should have a once number in it for example, 239449567046864, this number has a once which is the last number on the right and it is 4 and also it is important because it is the only number that does not have a zero after it or even any other number after it!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is even or odd?

any number ending in 1,3,5,7,9 is odd. any number ending in 2,4,6,8,0 is even. zero by itself is not a special case and is also even. See "The Parity of Zero" in the Related Links section.

What is the special name for zero degree Kelvin?
