To transmit a lot of electrical power, you either need a high voltage or a high current. But a higher current means your cables got hotter and you lose a lot of energy so is better to use higher voltage. To increase the voltage, we need to use a step up Transformers.
Step up transformers are transformers which has ability to increase the voltage and they have more turns on the secondary coil on the primary coil.
transformer which is used to increase the voltage .output voltage is higher than input voltage by connecting a step up transformer . mainly used at transmission end (sending side)
One with an output voltage greater than the input voltage.
Note - it's the voltage that defines "step-up" or "step-down".
A transformer that increases voltage is a step-up transformer.
the difference between a step up transformer and a step down transformer is that, in a tsep up transformer, the voltage secondary is greater than the primary side but in a step down transformer, the voltage secondary is lesser than the primary side
When the voltage need to be step up.
'CT' is used to designate current transformers, and 'PT' is used to designate potential transformers. A current transformer provides a ratio of primary current to the secondary. A potential transformer provides a ratio of primary voltage to the secondary. A power transformer (step up or step down) resembles a PT more than a CT.
A transformer used to step up or down the value of voltage.
A step up transformer is used to step up an AC voltage
A transformer is used to step up or step down a Voltage supply.
A transformer that increases voltage is a step-up transformer.
Transformer function is either to step-up or down the voltage. There is nothing like an ordinary transformer.
step- up transformer
A step-up transformer is a transformer that increases voltage that is transferred through power lines.
They do not step up energy. They can step up voltage.
A transformer that increases voltage is a step-up transformer.
simple step up transformer
the difference between a step up transformer and a step down transformer is that, in a tsep up transformer, the voltage secondary is greater than the primary side but in a step down transformer, the voltage secondary is lesser than the primary side
the main function of transformer is to change the magnitude of Voltage. difference between step up and step down is step up will change the input voltage into a larger magnitude of output while step down is vice versa
If the voltage needs to be increased from a lower voltage to a higher voltage a step up transformer is used. If the voltage needs to be lowered from a higher voltage to a lower voltage a step down transformer is used.
