Best Answer

In US, the definition of a studio is loosely a single room or a small space where a person lives with furniture that serves multiple purposes -- i.e., a Murphy bed, etc.

A condominium is a living space that you purchase, with the idea that you also purchase and therefore ultimately own other parts of the whole community -- common area owned with other owners who also own their own units.

Can a condo unit be sold before a declaration of condominium is filed?

In some cases a condominium is like an apartment. However, a condominium is form of fee ownership ( each unit owner is the absolute owner of their unit) by which several owners share ownership of a building(s) by each owning their respective units. What is the average area of a condominium?

It depends on the geography where the condominium is located. Usually, in high-density urban areas, a condominium is smaller; in suburbs, the units can be larger. Since a unit can be a studio or a penthouse, or a one-, two-, or three-bedroom unit, depending on where it is located in the building, an average would only be useful by type of condominium.

What do you own when you buy a condominium?
