They are short and stubby like a daschund. Their body is wide, and they have a lab face. But, they have daschund ears. They weigh about 15-25 pounds. They are very friendly if socialized correctly, but can be a bit skittish in the nature of dachshunds. They are quite intelligent, and have little wanderlust.
Although everything I've read online seems to indicate these are energetic, lively dogs, my own 1/2 beagle 1/2 dachshund is very sweet, mellow, and lazy... rather like a basset hound in miniature. They're also said to make good hunting dogs. I think overall, dogs are like people. They all have their own personality.
My dog tends to be a little more dachshund like. He does like to play allot when you get him started but most of the time is a lap dog. I would make sure if you have children they be a little older. My dog is timid yet aggressive toward new people. Not aggressive as in bite but as in bark and jumping up and down. Very loyal once trained and usually more toward the one that does the training. Only because he bonds with that person more. Will say as a puppy watch the digging and THEY WILL CHANCE SMALL ANIMALS(like squirrels, cats, and birds). Takes awhile for them to get used to other animals and people they don't know. But my dog lives with two others and is doing fine. HOPE THIS HELPS!!
It's probably nearly impossible to try to determine a dogs temperament by it's breed (or breeds) alone. Even within purebred dogs there are plenty of "non breed standard" dogs due to irresponsible breeding.
Besides the breed, how well a dog or puppy is socialized and trained really impacts on their temperament as much or more so than their breed heritage alone. You have to evaluate all dogs as the individuals they are.
The life span of a Bedlington Terrier is 12 - 14 years.
I have a Terrier Dachshund mix and I would like to know if it will be compatable with a King Charles Spaniel, which I'm considering purchasing and adding to our family. Please let me know your response. Thank you, Deborah Early dearly12@gmail.com 858-349-2543

Odie was portrayed by a Dachshund in the Garfield live-action movie.
A dachshund is a pure breed, not a mix, and one of the oldest dog breeds there is.
Chopper was a dachshund, specifically a miniature dachshund.
I have both, I think they have the same temperament, even though I find my Norwich male to be the most affectionate dog I have ever owned.
^(^.^)^ Well, A Terrier Mix is the Terrier (dog) mixed with another breed of Dog.
Maltese dogs can be mixed with many breeds. The most common mixes are Maltese-terrier, or Maltese-poodle (often nicknamed maltipoo). It can also be mixed with a Lhasa apso creating a rare mix, Kyi- Leo.
