The effect of tempo is as follows:

It dictates the speed as to which a piece of music is played. If you look at several pieces of music from different genres, you should be able to see most of them are around a certain number.

the importance of a tempo is that it allows a band to be able to play in time with each other, since they would have a idea of how many bpm the song should be played at.

Tempo, that is the speed the music is played at, is so incredibly vital to a piece. It can affect the mood for example, a happy or excited song such as 'i want to hold your hand' by the beatles is played at a quick tempo. something sad such as 'wish you were here' by pink Floyd is slower because it is sad and longing. Tempo can also slow down especially in Classical Music to create a dramatic effect or lead up to a big hit. Just imagine something like 'imagine' by John Lennon (get it;)) played really fast. doesnt work

tha tempo is important because if you play a song to slow it can put people asleep or make them fill sad or when its to fast it can sound random or jumbled up
