The Air Force had attempted a special presidential livery of their own design: a scheme in red and metallic gold, with the nation's name in block letters. Kennedy felt the aircraft appeared too regal and on advice from his wife, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, he contacted the French-born American industrial designer Raymond Loewy for help in designing a new livery and interiors for the VC-137 jet.[4] Loewy met with the president, and recorded that his earliest research on the project took him to the National Archives where he looked at the first printed copy of the United States Declaration of Independence, and saw the country's name set widely spaced and in upper case in a typeface called Caslon. He chose to expose the polished aluminum fuselage on the bottom side, and used two blues; a slate-blue associated with the early republic and the presidency, and a more contemporary cyan to represent the present and future. The presidential seal was added to both sides of the fuselage near the nose, a large American flag was painted on the tail, and the sides of the aircraft read UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The result of Loewy's work won immediate praise from the president, the press, and the jet's livery became a global icon. The VC-137 markings were adapted for the larger VC-25 when it entered service in 1989. SAM 26000 was in service from 1962 to 1998, serving Presidents Kennedy to Clinton, but was replaced by another VC-137, Special Air Mission 27000 in 1972. Richard Nixon was the first president to use this, and the aircraft would continue serving every president since, until it too was replaced by two VC-25 aircraft (SAM 28000 and 29000) in 1990. SAM 27000 was decommissioned in 2001 by President George W. Bush, flown to San Bernardino International Airport in California, and later driven in pieces to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley where it was reassembled and is currently on permanent display.

Air Force One has a color scheme of a white body from the mid section up, a light or powder blue base, from the windows down, and a front face of a deeper carribean blue around the face and sweeping back to a belt along the middle window row. The wings are bare metal silver.

What is the color code for hot water pipe line?

Typically there is no colour code. Any fresh water line running into your house is drinkable unless you have a reuse system. DON'T DRINK FROM IRRIGATION some citys use reclaimed water (grey water I.e. from showers and washing your hands) for irrigation.ONLY Civilized countries use color codesCountries with a bonifide plumbers guild and actually have a test for the masters licenses have color codes to prevent cross contamination of potable and non potable water systems.Depending on which code one uses will dictate the color coding OR metal tagsstating safe water or Unsafe water. Round for safe triangle for UnsafeThe reason for color coding is in high rise building there is a variety of piping systems such as fire suppression , potable , gray water, Combined fire systems (stand pipe and sprinkler) Fuel - gas - oil - steam and industrial lines such as pneumatic lines for controlsThe AWWA for example has under ground piping codes so in countries that have an established infrastructure workers know which piping are for utilities and waste and water supply rather then taking a chance of cutting into a wrong line

What is a transducer?

A transducer is a device, usually electrical, electronic, electro-mechanical, electromagnetic, photonic, or photovoltaic that converts one type of energy to another for various purposes including measurement or information transfer (for example, pressure sensors). In a broader sense, a transducer is sometimes defined as any device that converts a signal from one form to another.Source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transducerforward biased pn junction diode

What are the methods of identifying steels?

First and foremost it contains Iron which is magnetic. Use a magnet. It won't tell you what alloys are in the steel though. Lower grades of stainless are magnetic. Second would be an acid test. A series of different acids are placed on the steel and each one reacts to different elements (alloys). By observing color changes you can identify these and get a close guess as to what type of steel. Steel alloys are so varied it is very difficult to determine exactly what it contains. The manufacturers produce steel to meet certain requirements (tensile strength, malleability, hardness, etc) so the mixture can be made up of many alloys of varying amounts. Most steel electrodes will weld most steels. I have also seen an individual touch the steel with a grinder and identify it by the shape and color of the sparks.

How important is the study of Occupational Safety and Health in Industrial Engineers?

It can be vitally important. Suppose you are designing a machine. It is not enough that the machine will perform it's intended task. Workers will need to adjust and maintain the machine, as well as operate it. Did you design the needed guarding of moving parts? Is the machine design one that will facilitate lockout of energy during maintenance? Does the design produce unhealthy levels of noise, or air contaminants? What about cumulative trauma, strains and sprains?
