What is the Difference between procedure and thread?

[Edit]

Answer

A procedure is the way something is accomplished. In a computer, the procedure might be an application or a function within an application that causes something specific to be accomplished.

A thread is the path of execution throught the application. The thread can only take one branch of a decision point, so if an application says something like, "if X==55 (X = X+Y), and X in fact DOES equal 55, then the thread would go through that execution point.
