In nature, the Lewis structure for oxygen exists this way so it could react with other elements and in nature, it is a gas so it exists as O2 . As you can see, O2, each oxygen is connected by a single bond, each gets two octets, and on the bottom of each O, each O has one unpaired electron. Oxygen is set up this way in nature as its Lewis structure so it could react with other elements.
.. ..:O-O:. .Just how in nature, e.g., the Lewis structure for Nitrogen (gas element, therefore, N2) exists this way with a triple bond:
:N≡N:
Is there a reason you think that your two lone electrons don't form a pi bond and create a double bond? (which it does) Therefore satisfying the octet rule.
Heres a pic of it,

O=O with the other six dots surrounding the O's. The oxygen share a double bond in the middle.

o2 is a symbol. A formula is something like O2 + H2 -> H20
n2, o2, co2 and hidrogen
H2+O2=H2O is what a synthesis reaction would look like or also is the creation of water by combining hydrogen with oxygen
An elemental molecule, like H2 or O2.
This molecule, like all other diatomic gas elements, is non-polar and has a rod-like shape.
O=O The Lewis dot structure without the lone pairs of electrons.
The Lewis dot structure of elemental (biatomic) oxygen (O) have three of its sides surrounded by valence electrons. The Lewis dot would be 3 of these individual O2 structures: .. .. :O::O: .. ..
The N2 molecule consists of two nitrogen atoms held together by a triple bond. Each nitrogen atom also has a lone-pair of electrons. Therefore, the structure looks like this: :N~N: (~ represents triple bond)
the o2 sensor is in the exaust manifold or down pipe it looks like a sparkplug with wires
It resembles a spark plug with wires attached.
o2
In order to have a balanced equation, adding the reactant H2 And O2 (H2+O2) have to come out equal on the product side and the reactant side. This would look like H2+O2 = H2O2
O2=oxygen CO2=carbon dioxide
Mitochondria
If a molecule decomposes, then it is a chemical change. Like for water (H2O), It will look like this: 2 H2O -> 2H2 + O2 Since the actual original chemical changed, it is a chemical reaction.
