There are currently just over 450 Special Project Assistants, all working hard to help the Supervisors and to make the site a better place for everyone.
And there are a further 44 SPAs who have gone on to become Supervisors and have joined the SPA Alumni, who are using their super powers to continue working on tasks to help keep the site a great place for everyone!
The members of the SPA Alumni are:

The Special Project Assistant Program is a volunteer group on Answer.com that is open to everyone who wants to help make the site and gain some more experience on the site.
Special Project Assistants (or SPAs for short) perform tasks such as seeding new questions, recategorizing Q&As, cleaning up vandalism and spam and other critical daily activities that lend to a better overall user experience for all members of our community. They believe in giving for the greater good and are recognized by Supervisors for their time and effort.
An SPA helps out around the site and there is a lot to do, so the more the merrier! Sometimes it is hard to know where help is needed the most so the SPAs are assigned tasks to complete in areas where Supervisors need a little helping hand.
The tasks are normally quite simple. An SPA might be given a category to sort through, to make sure all the questions are in the correct place, and move them out where needed. They might be given a task to go through the alternates for a question, and split and move them where they are not asking the same as the primary wording. There are also tasks that involve making sure all the questions make sense and have good spelling and grammar or to clean up some answers that have been vandalized! There are loads of ways an SPA can help out!
But most of all, being an SPA should be FUN!
Anyone wishing to be an SPA should contact Stupid Little Genius via her message board or email Projects @ wikianswers.com (remove the spaces).
The SPA's (aka Special Project Assistants), have really no super powers. All they do is help improve answers, help recat questions, answer questions, and make new questions. The Special Project Assistants are what the name says, assistants to Special Projects.

The primary difference between a Special Project Assistant and a Community Assistant is that a SPA is a volunteer contributor and a CA is part of the Answers.com Community Development staff, who help facilitate the website. Community Assistants get paid for their work and Special Project Assistants do not. To see a list of all Special Project Assistants and Community Assistants, see the Related questions below.
All Supervisors and Community Assistants can give warnings on WikiAnswers.
SPA is an abbreviation for Special Project Assistant. The Special Project Assistant Program (SPA) exists to teach contributors about all the tools they have and how to use them effectively.
There are currently just over 500 SPAs, although the number of members changes all the time!

No. All WikiAnswers contributors answer questions just for the fun of it, not for profit. Community Assistants, who are Answers.com employees, are paid.
No, there isn't. But there is a list of all the Community Assistants on WikiAnswers.(See the Related question.)
The administrators of WikiAnswers who have all the powers of supervisors and more are Community Assistants. They are the ones who actually get paid to work on WikiAnswers, and you must apply for a job at Answers Corp. and request to work with WikiAnswers.
