Cancun is always on Eastern Standard Time (EST; UTC-5). 95% of Kansas alternates between Central Standard Time (CST; UTC-6) and Central Daylight Saving Time (CDT; UTC-5). The other 5% of Kansas, four of the counties bordering Colorado, alternates between Mountain Standard Time (MST; UTC-7) and Mountain Daylight Saving Time (MDT; UTC-6).

Daylight Saving Time in the U.S. begins on the second Sunday of March at 2 AM local standard time and ends on the first Sunday of November at 2 AM local daylight saving time.

Bottom line:

- There is no time difference between Cancun and 95% of Kansas 65% of the time.

- Cancun is one hour ahead of 95% of Kansas 35% of the time.

- Cancun is one hour ahead of the other 5% of Kansas 65% of the time.

- Cancun is two hours ahead of 5% of Kansas 35% of the time.

5 AM MST (in western KS Nov-Mar) =
6 AM MDT (in western KS Mar-Nov) =
6 AM CST (in most of KS Nov-Mar) =
7 AM CDT (in most of KS Mar-Nov) =
7 AM EST (in Cancun)

The time difference is either three, four, or five hours, depending on the part of Kansas and the time of the year.

Hawaii is always on Hawaii-Aleutian Standard Time (HAST; UTC-10).

- 5% of Kansas is three hours ahead of Hawaii 35% of the time.

- 5% of Kansas is four hours ahead of Hawaii 65% of the time.

- 95% of Kansas is four hours ahead of Hawaii 35% of the time.

- 95% of Kansas is five hours ahead of Hawaii 65% of the time.

2 AM HAST (in HI all year) =
5 AM MST (in western KS Nov-Mar) =
6 AM MDT (in western KS Mar-Nov) =
6 AM CST (in most of KS Nov-Mar) =
7 AM CDT (in most of KS Mar-Nov)
