In England and Wales the minimum legal age for getting married is 16 years of age but written consent may be required for anyone under 18 years. In Scotland 16 is the lower age-limit, however Scots law still has no requirement for parental consent. In Northern Ireland both persons must be at least 16 years of age on the day of their marriage. To get married in the United Kingdom, the rules are about the same as the United States of America. You can be sixteen with parental permission, otherwise you have to wait until you are of the legal age of eighteen. There is one exception, where in Scotland you can marry at sixteen without parental permission.

You can get married in most places at age 16 with parental permission. I believe Ireland does not require parental permission at that age. Without permission you have to be 18 in England.
