The average IQ for anyone is 100. It forms a bell-shaped curve. Stand deviation is 70-130 I think, but don't quote me on that. IQs are adjusted for age. There is no such thing as a perfect IQ test. But lets pretend there is one. If you took this ideal IQ test at any point in your life, you would get the exact same score every time unless you developed some type of mental illness. There would be no highest or lowest possible score. Of course this impossible with a finite number of questions, because you could get them all right. Actual IQ tests tend to increase slightly with every year spent as a student, and then decrease very gradually after you finish your education. This shows that you are learning something in your education that is giving you an advantage on the IQ test. An ideal IQ test is impossible to prepare or study for and learning new things shouldn't effect it.

When modern IQ tests are constructed the median score is set to 100 and a standard deviation to 15. Today almost all IQ tests adhere to the assignment of 15 IQ points to each standard deviation (SD) but this has not been the case historically. Approximately 95% of the population have scores within two standard deviations of the mean. If one SD is 15 points, then 95% of the population are within a range of 70 to 130.

The above is quoted from Wikipedia.

By definition, the "average" IQ score for children or for adults is 100. This was originally calculated for children by dividing the "mental age" of an individual's performance (derived from the average performance for that age) by the individual's chronological age, and then multiplying the quotient by 100. Now the performance of any individual is simply compared with norms of performance for the individual's chronological age.

IQ does not go higher as one matures. What you test at around the age 10 to 12 years old is your IQ for life unless you suffer head trauma or develop dementia with age. Drug use has also shown to lower ones IQ.

IQ is not the only factor that makes you successful in life. Most of the successful people in school and on the job have average or slightly higher intelligence. It is perseverance and effort that gets them there. I must say from experience that I have known several geniuses who did not live up to their potential due to lack of effort. They didn't have to try very hard because knowledge and retention of it came easily, so consequently then never learned how to apply themselves to accomplish the hard stuff!

Well the average IQ of a person is 100 (by definition of IQ) But I am only 11 and mine is 131, so hopefully it would be higher than that for an adult! (either that or I'm really smart!)

The average IQ for adults is the same as for children and teens. It is 100, not 200. A 200 IQ is on the very high end of genius!

Who is smarter Canada or us?

If we're talking IQ there will be a dispute over this. Americans will argue that their IQ is supposedly higher on average by a couple points. However, being Americans they will fail to take into account the history of the IQ test. When the IQ test was first brought to Canada, Canadians scored noticeably higher on average than Americans. This was a problem because on IQ tests, the average must always be 100 and Canadians were scoring higher than that on the American IQ tests. The Canadians then lowered their IQ test average in accordance with the rules so that their IQ was on average, 100.
