The American Medical Association Encyclopedia of Medicine, ISBN 0-394-56528-2 1989, p22, states:
A useful rule of thumb for estimating the normal systolic blood pressure in the male is to add 100 to the age of the patient, up to the level of 150 mm Hg. Normal diastolic pressure in the male ranges between 65 and 90 mm Hg. Both pressures are about 10 mm Hg lower in the female.
A healthy young adult has a blood pressure of about 110/75, which rises to about 130/90 by age 60.
Emergency Care and Transportation, fourth edition, ISBN 0-89203-012-7, 1987, p38 states:
