If a person had 70-90 breathes in one minute, they wouldn't be human anymore. The average adult breathes in and out every 4-5 seconds or so. If you are an adult and your respiration are between 12 and 25, then you need not worry. Outside of that (when your body is at rest), then you should be worried.

The normal range of breaths per minute for an adult (relaxed) is between 9 and 14, one breath meaning one movement of the chest, up and down. This will obviously increase upon exercise. If your respiration rate is above, this could indicate that you are not getting enough oxygen into your lungs and around your system. People who suffer from Asthma or breathing, heart or respiratory problems tend to have higher respiration rates. Some medications especially pain medications can lower your respiration rate also .

Normal breathing rates fall between 12-20 per minute. Either above or below this range will result in inadequate profusion.

On average a human takes a breath 20,000 times a day. That obviously includes the fluctuation between walking, resting, and any type of strenuous activity like walking a flight of stairs. When relaxed a fit human around the age of 18-35 usually takes in 40-50 breaths a min.

If you divide 20,000 breaths in 24 hours you get an average of 70 breaths a min, including when relaxed, active, ect.

depending on the person a doctor in the Emergency room probably takes 74 breaths a min

Desk job- 30-45 breaths a min

Teacher in between desk job and doctor

eventually you will get the idea

so for example if you are talking on the phone with your friend for 8 min you on average breath 720-400 breaths depending on your health, but in my equations im assuming everyone is healthy.
