What is the average salary for a lawyer as it relates to degree and certification?

Answer

You have to have a "JD"(Juris Doctor). Salary depends on who you work for. Are you going with a megabuck law firm because you are first in your class, editor of the Law Review, Valedictorian, etc? You can start with six figures easily. Are you going to work at a law firm that your dad is a partner in? Middle five figures. Are you hoping to get in at the public defenders office? Low five figures. Are you going out on your own? May be ducking the bill collectors as much as your clients are. Any or all of these questions need to be answered before you should start to worry about salary.
