A pool player does not realy earn a salary. He/she earn his/her living by winning prize money, collecting money from sponsors or in some cases they get an additional fund from an institution (e.g. NOC/NSF in The Netherlands). So you could say that a pool players salary is as much as he/she wins from tournaments, combined with the sponsors he/she has.
It depends there is no set salary for pool players. They have to enter into tournaments and if they win the tournament then they win a purse. So there salary is based on how many tournaments they win. For example, Ralf Souquet won the 2008 World 8-Ball Championship and his purse was 60,000. Of course there are other ways for them to make money through endorsements or what not. Also many pool players put out dvd tutorials to teach others how to shoot and they make money off those as well.
