The standard of living in Africa depends on the country. South Africa is one of the best developed in Africa. I am from South Africa and as you can see I have Internet and my own computer. Everything in SA is perfectly normal, just as in any other developed country. The only MAIN thing missing is probably good law enforcement and sufficient public transport. All the other African Countries aren't as bad as well (Ive been to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Swaziland and Mozambique). Yes, its not NYC, but there are shops, electricity, telephone, cellphones, Internet, etc.Africa is poor due to colonisation as well as bad management which is a result of African traditions and different way of approaching issues at stake which differs and clashes with Western ways of doing things.a simple example would be; For some African cultures it is good to lie, because you protect yourself or someone else from the person who wants to know the truth. If I stole something and someone else wants to know who stole the item, it will be good for you to lie, because you are protecting me. - It differs from western ways of thinking.Africa is a very interesting continent. To determine the standard of living, rather Google the country you are interested. I would suggest Google social issues, such as housing, service delivery, the government website, etc. not the tourism pages.Like i said, the standard of living is determined by the different country. As we all know, Zimbabwe is down the drain and then you find many books on 'why Botswana prospered'.
Many factors determine a standard of living, including average disposable income, general health, access to education, access to social services, and social freedom.
National income
Economists measure a nation's standard of living: by calculating GDP per person by calculating per capita income (the best indicator) by calculating average personal income.
One disadvantage of using per capita income to measure standard of living is that the average doesn't really account fluctuations in standard of living between very rich and very poor. This difference can be huge, but a per capita can make it appear small.
Computer's are the new standard living
low standard of living
high standard of living= high GDP and vice versa
South Africa is in Africa. Africa's a continent, South Africa is a country in Africa.
South Africa has the highest standard of living. My guess is because the people there have come to peace with internal problems and can now get on with living comfortably.
Great Question. The Average Living Standard on Earth in 2007 was 0.753 on the HDI scale. This is comparable to the countries of Algeria, The Philippines, and El Salvador.
Oil exports can pay for the standard of living increases.
The amount of goods and services that the average citizen can buy is known as a standard of living. The cost of a standard of living varies greatly depending on a number of factors.
The standard of living in Brazil varies greatly among the country but overall it has the 75th highest in the world and is considered a developing country. Its living standard is comparable to that of Grenada and Peru.
Unknown. But it did seem to have a high standard of living.
Libya
Libya has the highest standard of living in North Africa and Africa as a whole with the 55th highest in the world.
The average height is about 180-185 cm... Boet.
