There is no set answer for the 'average' weight of a 5' 2" woman. Body weight is a misleading measure. Since people have different builds, different people of the same height and sex can have the same percentage of body fat and yet have different body weights. The reason for this is that muscle weighs more than fat. What counts more than your body weight is your percentage of body fat. As a female, your percentage of body fat should be about 15 to 20% for good health. Therefore, what is important is your body composition. Todetermine your percentage of body fat at home, obtain some plastic body fat calipers and do a simple skin-fold test. Body fat calipers are not expensive and they are readily available to buy. ---- To learn about the causes of weight gain, or obesity, see the page link, further down this page, listed under "Related Questions."

There is no set answer for the average weight of a person who is 5' 2." Body weight can be a misleading measure.

Since people have different builds, different people of the same height and sex can have the same percentage of body fat and yet have different body weights.

If you are an adult female, your percentage of body fat should probably be about 15 to 20% for good health. If you are a an adult male, your percentage of body fat should probably be about 10 to 15% for good health.

Therefore, what is important is body composition. The reason for this is that muscle weighs more than fat. What counts more than your body weight is your percentage of body fat.

To determine your percentage of body fat at home, obtain some plastic body fat calipers and do a simple skin-fold test. Body fat calipers are not expensive and are readily available to buy.

The accuracy of calipers in assessing body fat is somewhat imprecise- fluctuations in subcutaneous water can lead to increased readings of body fat despite stable body fat levels. Additionally, it's very important that you understand how to use the calipers to get an accurate reading, otherwise they'll be of little use. Of all methods for assessing body fat, calipers are amongst the least accurate, though they are also the most convenient. Combined with a scale, calipers help to give you a better sense of your progress and body composition.

if you do your height in meters divided by your weight (kg) squared you will come up with your BMI (body mass index) if it is over 30 you are obese and if it is under roughly 18 you are under weight
