On most models, remove the screw that holds the rear seat bracket to the rear fender. Then slide the seat back so the front mounting bracket slides out of the frame. On many softtail models, there is a bolt on each side of the seat that attaches the driver seat to the frame. These must be removed before the seat can be slid back and off the motorcycle.
