∙ 14y agoWe all swallow chemicals every day -- salt, milk, apple juice, maybe a little mouthwash. You get the idea. It depends on what chemicals you're talking about.
Your body can neutralize some chemicals and filter out others. Others don't do much damage at first but build up in your body until they poison you -- lead is an example. And some can burn human tissue or kill you. For more information, try googling the specific chemical.
