I have been grilling for my friends and family for a long time now. I can honestly say that of all the BBQ rubs and sauces that I have used over the years Picky Vicki's is the best. I came across Picky Vicki's website last year and I just had to order some. I am glad I did because my ribs just seem to be missing something, and what ever that something is I found it in Picky Vicki's Gourmet BBQ Sauces and Rubs.
I could not agree with you more! I don't know if it is the best seller, it is the best!
I make my own, you can find rub recipes in most barbaque cook books or online. My favorite though in called Magic Dust. I do tweak it somewhat to my taste, that way I get what I want. In the long run it is less expensive than buying pre mixed, and then you can also use the unmixed as called for in other recipes, I make the rub about a quart at a time, store in a mason jar with 3 or 4 holes in the lid so that I can use it as a shaker type. When I cover I use plastic wrap and a rubber band to seal the plastic over the lid. If it cakes some I just shake it vigorously and it usually loosens up and mixes well, just try to store it in a dry place.

I would recommend The Peddler in Gatlinburg. Pricey....But very good. Bennett's Bar-B-Que in Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg are also quite good, if you have a taste for Bar-B-Que.
Charcoal is much better and will provide richer flavor.
Yes, bar-b-que hurts the environment. It burns resources (such as wood or coal) and emits smoke and carbon monoxide.
The BBQ sauce is very hot.
