The best home remedy is to avoid getting sick -- however if you feel a cold coming, or are around people with colds, try taking Zicam (homeopathic remedy sold at most grocery stores) and cold-eze (also homeopathic sold at most stores) lozenges. You may still get sick, but not nearly as long and severe.
Also, acupuncture will help your cold/flu go away more quickly and if you do it regularly you can avoid getting sick at all.
To wipe out viruses, I think the best remedy is good quality pure oregano oil; a few drops in a capsule (fill remainder with olive oil or grapeseed oil) and swallow with juice or water.
Shark oil capsules are also good.
2: I had a very sore dry throat & nose and I wanted hot tea and the only kind I had was mint tea (which I dont really like) so i decided to try something.
boil the water & put it in a glass or mug
take mint tea and LIGHTLY add it to the water (dont make it strong)
add 2-3 table spoons of Orange Juice
put in 1 teaspoon of sugar (or more, less, or none if you prefer)
stir & enjoy :)
I had a very bad sore throat yesterday (4-9-09) & I tried this and have been drinking it atleast 2-3 times a day and today is (4-10-09) and I actually feel much better:) (mint tea when you breath it in through your nose will help clear it & its healthy for you & so is the orange juice:) )
