∙ 7y agoFor DVD/BlueRay, light gaming and heavy duty office work something a little heftier will be needed, a dual core or better based laptop, with at least 2GB of RAM a decent screen and a good warranty can be had for as little 350 before warranty cost.
For heavy duty gaming 500 will probably be too lean to cover what you would need. A lot of RAM, a fast CPU, and a high-end graphics chip are must haves.
Local retailers can help point you to models off the shelf, Fry's is a very good option, or you can surf the web for some of the manufacturer's sites, Dell is very good, Acer, Toshiba, Gateway, HP/Compaq, Sony, etc.
