Subjective answer, but in my personal opinion, join on with a rural agency wherein you are required to learn a lot and learn it fast, then determine what aspect you like most and transfer to a large agency and focus on that area.

If you are looking for a career in this sector then you should get Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's Degree in law enforcement. Also you should be a minimum of 21 years old and without any criminal record. Some best career in law enforcement are FBI agent, police officer, forensic scientist, criminologists, secret service agent, detectives, Customs Inspectors, and many more.
