That depends entirely on the type of fish that are in the tank. If you have tropical fish, temperatures ranging from 75-82 degrees Fahrenheit is about perfect. Freshwater Fish are typically more forgiving of temperature differences than saltwater or oceanic fish tend to be. If you have common gold fish or other non tropical fresh water fish then room temperature or about 64-76 degrees is about perfect.
Between 75 and 80 f

FAHRENHEIT! you need to stipulate scale! the novice may think you mean celcius. btw it's ignorant to ignore such a section of the world's populace! no offense.

^^^^^^

72 degrees in celsius is around 160 degrees fahrenheit. Unless you want a fish dinner, theres no way you're going to try to make your water that hot.

The average temperature of a tropical fishtank is usually about 24'c but it all depends what fish you have in the tank (Or are intending on putting in it) as some prefer it hotter, some cooler. Alot of people have the misconception that all tropical fish can be chucked in a tank together and will get along fine, this is not the case. They come from allover the world and so are from different temperatures, ph's, etc
The ideal temperature for most tropical fish is 21-26 degrees celsius (70-80 Fahrenheit)

Different species require different water parameters and they can vary from 65F for Whitecloud Mountain Minnows (Tanichthys albonubes) up to 85F for Discus (Symphysodon spp). For most tropicals though you would be OK with a temp of around 75F.

It generally depends on the fish. On average, the lowest for tropical fish is about 75 degrees F. But once more, it depends on the different fish.

Does it effect Betta fish if you change the fish from a regular tank to a filter tank?

Betta fish will not be harmed if they are in a filtered tank. If the new tank is about the same size as the old tank you should use the old water or most of it in the new tank. If the new tank is larger so you have to add lots of new water then you should fill the new tank with the new water and let it sit (preferably with the filter running) for two or three days before adding the fish. Also when you move the fish make sure the new tank is at the same temperature as the old tank.
