Red-eared or painted turtles are very common pet turtles. Although not as bad as they once were, you still have to be careful of salmonella. A curious child of 5 might like to play with the turtle and then forget to wash up afterwards. I had a red-eared turtle for 6 years, they are very interesting creatures. If you keep them in a small turtle dish they will stay small, and will grow based on the size of the new tank.

I have 3 Red Ear Sliders, 5yrs, 1yr, 8mos old. Turtles are a huge commitment, they require lots of attention, but they make great little pals. The turtles themselves are very inexpensive(3-$4). If you want healthy turtles it will require a min 10 gal tank per inch of turtle, a heater, basking area, basking light, not to mention all the time you will need to invest in keeping their home clean. Turtles are very messy eaters and love to rearrange their tank.
turtle or gecko ther fun afordable and pretty easy to take care of
I would suggest a plush stuffed turtle because they require very little maintenance and care.
The Red Eared Slider is the most common kind of pet turtle, so I'm guessing that the Red Eared Slider is the best kind of turtle for a pet. People do seem to like it!
It is best not to keep a turtle as a pet. Rather sponsor the survival of a turtle in the wild.
A pet turtle can be about a 50 years old.
if you mean best as in easiest to care for, you should get a fish, or a turtle. in my opinion though, dogs are the best.
I think so. My friend had a turtle as a pet.
Peter got his turtle from the pet store. He bought it at the pet store.
The best store to buy a animal is at a pet shop. Not a local one, but a professional one. I suggest Petzoo or should I say Mega pet.
You go to the pet shop and buy a turtle for about $50.00 - $100.00. (£20 - £40)
i think my family member said that a pet turtle costs 7.00 at Skippie's.

Not all Webkinz get to be the Pet of the Month. The big turtle may become the Pet of the Month someday, but it is not certain nor likely.
