Hardware shops sell a product for use on glass stove tops called "Hob Cleaner Paste".

Put less than a teaspoon sized blob of the paste onto the hob and use a dry paper kitchen towel to spread it out all over the ring area, rubbing just a little. The idea is to let that cleaner paste dry off. Then use the paper kitchen towel to rub the dried cleaner paste into the stains over and over and, hopefully, you may get most of them off.

However you may be unlucky to remove all the stains first time so use the hob cleaner paste several times over several weeks. Even then, some stains may remain forever if they were allowed to get "burnt" into the glass surface..

Some people recommend using a special type of metal handled scraper that is specially made for use on glass stove tops. It has a razor blade mounted on it. You can try using one but you'd have to use it very carefully and be sure not to "cut" or scratch the surface. There is no point in damaging the surface permanently by attacking it too violently with a sharp tool of any type.

Wait until it is cool, wipe some water on it, wait five minutes, wipe the water off.

you can use cerama bryte to clean stove top you can get it at lowes

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are many products made to clean glass stovetops. They are basically all the same. Follow the directions and get all of the product off with repeated wipings.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In the UK a product called "HOB BRiTE" is what I use and it does a good job at keeping my hob looking showroom new after 10 years.

MAKE SURE YOUR STOVE IS TURNED OFF - VERY IMPORTANT... THEN, COAT YOUR STOVE TOP IN A LAYER OF DAWN DISH DETERGENT AND COVER WITH A PLASTIC TRASH BAG OVERNIGHT NEXT MORNING, USE A SOFT COTTON RAG WET WITH HOT WATER TO CLEAN OFF YOUR STOVE TOP. IT SHOULD REMOVE THE GREASE EASILY.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another option is: A cheap product that works REALLY well for glass stovetops is "WEIMAN" GLASS COOKTOP CLEANER, which can be purchased at Walmart for about $4.00. I swear by it. It doesn't matter what I cook, my glasstop looks new after I clean it. Says it can also be used for glass fireplace doors. To use, you pour it on a cool stove, rub with paper towel or sponge, and wipe off. Voila!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You scrape as much off as you can with a single-edge razor blade in a holder. What remains, you polish off with an approved abrasive paste and a rag. Cerabrite is one brand that you can use. Do not use a harsh abrasive because it may scratch the surface.

Elbow Grease and VinegarI use a soapy scrubber to get the majority of the caked on mess off. Its best to use dish soap or some form of grease fighting product; it makes the job easier, especially with greasier messes. While the soap cleans away germs, the scrubber helps reduced the time it takes to remove the gunk. If you encounter trouble spots, let the water solution set on the area. This will dissolve the mess (Do not leave on more than ten minutes). Then, use rag to remove the soapy water away. The main issue I kept running into was the streaks left behind. I discovered that newspaper and vinegar removes the streaks and helps to disinfect your stove top at the same time. It only takes about five minutes to do, and will increase the life span of your stove top while inspiring other areas of the kitchen to have its sparkling shine.

Which is better glass or stainless steel cookware?

If the cookware can always be treated carefully, if one is careful so as not to burn foods and if concerned with food purity, glass would be the better choice. Pure, clear, uncolored glass is better in chemical safety if you are evaluating the potential for chemical leaching due to the interaction of foods with the cookware. If the glass is colored or glazed, the chemicals that are used might be a problem. Glass is worse in that it can develop cracks which can be hard to see, and small chips can get into food. It can also shatter, and sharp pieces can be dangerous. Adding color to the glass makes chips and pieces easier to see, but might compromise the chemical safety of glass. Glass also lags behind stainless steel in the category of thermal conductivity, so it is easier to burn food with glass cookware.. Stainless Steel is better in strength and durability. It also better than glass in conducting heat, which lowers the chances of burning the food. Metal cookware is more popular than glass cookware in homes and in restaurants, so there will be far more choices in stainless steel. There are many companies that make lower quality stainless steel, so it important to consider the quality.
